Annai Theresa College of Education for Women is run by CTC Theresian Carmelite sisters under Amala Provincial House Society who are servicing in the Educational field for more than150 years. It is due to the outcome of the tireless Mission and foresighted vision of the pioneers that this college came into existence on 24th April 2005, through the approval and recognition granted by the National Council for Teacher Education, Bangalore. The approval of the state government of Tamilnadu was obtained on 30th August 2005 and the formal affiliation to Thiruvalluvar University was obtained on 25th October 2005. Now it is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University Chennai.

It is the milestone of the service rendered to the poor youth of the rural areas. The trainees are chiseled, moulded and polished into a lustrous gems and a formed woman under the guidance of a team of qualified experienced and dedicated staff and the principal.

The Motto of ours college is Love Peace and Service. The goal of our educative Endeavour is to produce an intellectually enlightened, spiritually inspired, emotionally balanced, morally upright and socially committed young women who will be the agents of social transformation tomorrow.

Annai Theresa College of Education for Women is situated in a remote village Pavithram in Thiruvannamalai District in Northern part of Tamilnadu. The college bloomed in the year 2005 as a Bachelor of Education Institution. Students from Thiruvannamalai and other Districts usually join the institution for B. Ed courses. The institution strives to keep pace with the recent development in the field of education. The faculties of the institution are fully qualified, committed and interested in imparting quality education.

The institution is proud of its academic achievement of the past eight years. In the academic year 2006-07, our college students secured 3rd, 5th and 9th Rank in the University level. In the academic year 2008-‘09, one B.Ed. student secured 1st place in the District Level. The overall average pass percentage for the past eight years in B.Ed. is 98 with many distinctions and first classes.

The institution feels proud to say that our college got individual and overall championship in the first state level athletic competition conducted by Tamilnadu Teachers Education University.

In the last eight years, 3 national seminars, two symposiums, one workshop and many regional seminars were organized by the college. The compendium of papers presented in the seminars were published in the form of book with ISBN

The institution is earnest in achieving its mission ‘Education for Women’. Apart from the prescribed Syllabus, the College offers spoken English, communication Skills, Computer Education, Personality Development Programmes, Value Education and Health & Hygiene Programmes.

As part of teaching- learning process, learner center techniques and models of teaching are used. To satisfy the diverse need of the student’s remedial teaching, tutorial sessions and individual attention are given. The students are assessed through continuous evaluation.

The staff members engage themselves in participation and presentation of papers in seminars, at regional and national levels and publication of paper in reputed journals. They are proficient in computer Skills and using other scientific and technological widgets.

The staff and students of the college extend their full concern and good will to the weaker section of the society. As part of the outreach programme the institution rendered financial helps, constructed house & toilet, and supplied clothes to the poor and the deserving. The students of the institution also plant trees in neighboring schools, clean public places, conduct rallies, and Blood donation camps. The institution has also donated furniture, fans and uniform clothes to the practice teaching schools.

Apart from the routine academic activities, various clubs, committees and association function in the campus. These clubs and communities organize various meetings, talks, competition, cultural events and awareness programmes in the college. The staff and students are also involved in publishing news bulletins and extension activities.

The instructional facilities include well equipped laboratories and a fully developed library. The library has more than 6000 books and encyclopedia more than 50. The college has a spacious playground with facilities for sports and games. The institution has also indoor games facility.

The students are helped to get employment through the placement cells. The visionary management of the college offers a favorable environment in the campus and inspires and supports the activities of the institution. Through feedbacks and monitoring, the institution ensures quality teacher education.
